What Is Green Sea Peel?

Everything You Need to Know Before Your Treatment

Unlike a traditional facial, this is a corrective treatment designed to stimulate your skin’s natural renewal process. Green Sea Peel is an advanced resurfacing treatment that uses marine sponge spicules — microscopic, needle-like silica structures naturally derived from sea sponges.

During the treatment, these tiny spicules are gently massaged into the skin, where they create thousands of microscopic channels in the outer layer of the skin. This process:

  • Stimulates natural skin renewal and collagen production
  • Speeds up healthy cell turnover
  • Helps active ingredients penetrate deeper into the skin
  • Improves skin texture, tone, acne scars, enlarged pores, fine lines, and pigmentation

Many clients notice healthier, brighter skin after just one treatment.

What Does the Treatment Feel Like?

Green Sea Peel is not a relaxing spa facial — it’s an active skin correction treatment. During your appointment, you may experience the following. These feelings are completely normal and show that the spicules are working within the skin.

What Should I Expect After Treatment?

Everyone's Skin Responds a Little Differently, But Here's a General Timeline

Immediately After

Redness, Warmth & Sensitivity

Redness similar to a mild sunburn, warmth or tightness, and skin may feel sensitive. Redness is often strongest a few hours after treatment and usually begins improving within 24–48 hours.

The First 72 Hours

Prickling Sensation

You will likely continue to feel a prickling sensation. This sensation often becomes more noticeable:

  • When lying down
  • In a warm room
  • After a hot shower
  • While drinking hot beverages

This is completely expected and does not mean you’re having an allergic reaction.

Days 3–7

Peeling or Flaking

Most clients experience peeling or flaking. Your skin may peel lightly or heavily, feel dry or rough, and shed in small flakes or larger sheets. Do not pick, rub, or peel the skin. Allow it to shed naturally to achieve the best results.

Days 5–10

Fresh, Healthier-Looking Skin

Fresh, healthier-looking skin begins to appear. Your complexion may look brighter, smoother, more even, and more radiant.

What Clients Should Expect

Will My Pigmentation Get Darker?

It can — and this is completely normal. Existing pigmentation such as sun spots, post-acne marks, and melasma may temporarily appear darker before gradually lifting as your skin renews itself. This is a normal part of the healing process.

  • Prickling / tingling for up to 72 hours
  • Redness that may worsen a few hours after treatment
  • Peeling for roughly 3–7 days

Important Aftercare Instructions

Following Your Aftercare Is Essential for Achieving the Best Possible Results

For several days after treatment, please avoid:

  • Sheet masks
  • Facial scrubs
  • Chemical exfoliants (AHA/BHA)
  • Enzyme exfoliants
  • Retinol or prescription retinoids
  • Strong Vitamin C serums
  • Benzoyl peroxide
  • Salicylic acid
  • Waxing or other aggressive facial treatments

Gentle Skincare Only

During the healing phase, keep your skincare routine simple. Use:

  • A gentle cleanser
  • A soothing moisturizer
  • Plenty of hydration

Once peeling has completely finished, you may gradually return to your regular skincare routine as advised by your esthetician.

  • Never Pick Peeling Skin. Although it may be tempting, never pull or pick at peeling skin. Doing so may lead to hyperpigmentation, uneven healing, skin irritation, and scarring. Allow your skin to peel naturally.
  • Protect Your Skin From the Sun. Your new skin will be more sensitive to UV exposure. For at least two weeks after treatment: apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every day, wear a hat whenever possible, and avoid prolonged direct sun exposure. Sun protection is one of the most important parts of your recovery.
